Day 105/365 - Cloudy Skies

Monday, March 29.

It's a beautiful day. The rain finally gave way to the beautiful shining sun. The heat eased my soul and calmed my mind. No longer shivering from the cold, I can focus on other thoughts as I walk from place to place. My mind wanders. I enjoy it. Keep the thoughts rolling and the ideas marching.

A new poem for anyone who cares:

Land by Christopher Fecio

Picture yourself inside a frame; not a square frame, though.
It's a big round frame, like the windows on a ship.
Those odd little windows that fill with faces once the ship reaches the sea.
Smiling faces bordered by fearful frowns and puffed out cheeks.
You always used to laugh when you saw those silly faces passing by on another ship.
But we went fast and sleek, amazing even the most doldrum viewer.
Keep riding the waves and keep waving to those sorry-eyed riders.

Wrote it the other day. Not my best writing ever, but its good to get words onto paper again. I hope to keep writing; I hope to keep reading.

I started Grapes of Wrath again the other day. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it. I'm going to keep up with it, and in between gum prints, final papers and presentations, I'm hoping to finish it in the next couple weeks.

I should have more to say, but I'm a bit tired, and just about to begin a paper. I'll try to stay more on top of writing from now on.

Drip, drip, drop.
Flip, flip, flop.
Keep on walking towards the light,
Please, please, don't stop.

Day 100/365 - Celebration!

Wednesday, March 24.

I definitely have some writing to catch up on. And a new poem to post. The first writing I've done in quite a long time.

Soon, I promise.

Too much wind,
and too much rain.
The water soaks me
to the bone.

Day 77/365 - Hello Lady

Monday, March 1.

A new week. A new month. A new outlook.

Ripping out old carpets to make room for some nice hardwood flooring. Very excited.

Found this ladybug when removing the carpet. It seems long since passed, but still in perfect condition. I'm going to keep him by my side.

I started knitting yesterday. Odd, yes, I know. But it is very soothing, and I really enjoy it. It's a nice repetitive action that allows my mind to wander. Not sure this is the best time, what with all the work I have to do before I can start my gum prints and the technical drawings I have to complete. As well as a presentation, paper, quizzes, etc. It's all part of school. I've more or less given up on all my classes except senior thesis. Well, I've definitely placed them on the back burner and turned my full attention to senior thesis. It's something I really do care about and want to get accomplished.

I also have a different project on a different hand, which I'll be working on once I finish this project and have my show. It is based on yesterday's photograph of the oranges. Perhaps I'll take more time another day to get more into it. Either way, both are going decently well so far, but please keep your fingers crossed for me. I have to get this printing exactly correct; it doesn't want to give me a full tonal range. I'll keep working on it, though. Failure isn't an option.

Planning some travel for the summer. Hopefully going out to see Curtis in Seattle, maybe another road trip with some friends. Europe is out; There's no way I'll save up enough money. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Still looking for another job since I only have 3 months left with this one. The extra money would be helpful in buying supplies for these thesis as well. I guess I'll just keep trying.

Keep it safe, keep it real.

Take a nap,
and close your eyes.
The world spins around above;
the wind blows on your face.
